Safety Camera Enforcement - Core Site Information
Accident / Injury Figures for Wiltshire & Swindon Safety Camera Partnership core sites. Q. What is a core site? A. A core site is a site or route which has been approved by the Department for Transport (DfT) for speed camera enforcement because at that location there is documented history of accident collisions which have resulted in Fatal (Killed) and/or Serious Injury (KSI). The information provided covers the core sites from commencement of enforcement until 31 May 2008. The sites are shown where possible in road number order A30, A3026 etc. with named roads without a number to the rear of the list. The baseline figures shown (in red) give the numbers of recorded Fatal, Serious and Slight injuries at each site and the respective numbers for each year following commencement of camera enforcement. As an example: A30 The Pheasant, Winterslow: In the 3 years prior to enforcement, there were 4 serious injuries and 6 slight injuries at that location. In the 6 years and 1 month (twice the baseline period) since enforcement commenced, there have been a total of 3 accident collisions which resulted in 4 slight injuries.
